The upcoming Range Rover Velar SUV has been spotted in India ahead of its official launch. Land Rover India is expected to launch the new SUV later this year, while bookings has already commenced.
Skoda Auto is looking to manufacture and launch a sporty, coupe styled variant of its Kodiaq SUV. This will be the first ever SUV to get a coupe style outside of the premium ones such as the BMW X6 and the Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe. The Kodiaq GT coupe might see the light of the day in 2019.
The Mahindra XUV500, TUV300 Plus and the SsanYong Tivoli-based compact SUV, S201, have been spotted testing in India. While the 2017 XUV500 is an updated models the other two are new cars.
The production-spec version of the Lamborghini Urus will be built on Volkswagen Group's MLB modular platform that also underpins the Bentayga, Porsche Cayenne and the Audi Q7. Power is expected to come from a 4.0 litre turbocharged V8 engine putting out 650 horsepower and will come equipped with an all-Wheel Drive (AWD) system as well.
The new compact SUV will be built alongside a whole range of new cars that will be introduced in the South American market by the year 2020. This SUV will be sold alongside the upcoming 7 seat version of the Volkswagen Tiguan, another compact SUV from Volkswagen (rebadged version of the Skoda Karoq) and even possibly the brand new T-ROC. These new cars will be developed and built independently in Argentina where Volkswagen has decided to invest $653 Million in its Pachecco plant.
The long-awaited Mahindra Scorpio facelift was recently spotted in India ahead of its official launch. The SUV will go on sale in India on November 14 and comes with a bunch of cosmetic updated, mainly a new grille, alloys, ORVMs and a tailgate.
The Skoda Karoq has received a five-star rating in Euro NCAP crash tests held recently. The Karoq is the second SUV from Skoda to receive a five-star rating after the Kodiaq. In the global hierarchy, the Karoq will be positioned below the Kodiaq and will be coming to India sometime in 2018.
