India's Ride-hailing service provider Ola is reportedly betting big on two and three-wheelers for its electric mobility drive. In fact, the company is expected on deploying 10,000 electric vehicles (EVs), a mix of two and three-wheelers, in India by March 2020.
The company has announced free charging at Ather Points for all electric vehicles for the first 6 months. Ather's electric and intelligent scooters bring ease of access and convenience to their owners by allowing them to identify charging point locations and their real time availability through the Ather Grid app.
The Formula E championship has seen some massive manufacturers join the sport in one way or the other. In a first, a bike maker is now associated with the electric series. Formula E racing team Envision Virgin Racing has signed a multi-year partnership with Harley-Davidson, with the American motorcycle maker set to feature on the team's electric racing cars. Harley's association with Formula E comes at a time when the company is at the forefront of its electrification plans for motorcycles. The announcement comes ahead of the 2019 Paris e-Prix scheduled for this weekend, while Harley-Davidson is gearing up to introduce its first electric motorcycle - LiveWire - later this year.
British electric bike maker GoZero Mobility around its foray in the Indian EV market earlier this year and have now announced its expansion plans for the Indian market. The company has commenced operations with its first outlet in Kolkata and plans to have a three-part expansion approach with 18 experience centres, 80 channel partners that will target 1000+ retailers. The company will also retail its offerings online while expanding its retail network by 2021.
