Fiat Chrysler (FCA) restarted production at its Serbian plant, after halting it in mid-March in response to the coronavirus outbreak, Serbia's state-run Tanjug news agency reported on Tuesday.
Under the new scheme, frontline COVID-19 warriors who buy a new Yamaha two-wheeler will need to pay 50 per cent of their monthly EMI for the first three months, post which the regular EMI will start.
Workers at Bajaj Auto, India's biggest exporter of motorbikes, are demanding the temporary closure of one of its plants after 250 employees there tested positive for coronavirus, its unions said on Saturday, as companies struggle to ramp up operations. The Bajaj Auto factory affected is located in western Maharashtra, the state with the highest number of cases of COVID-19, the disease the virus causes.
Tesla Inc is building mobile molecule printers to help make the potential COVID-19 vaccine being developed by CureVac in Germany, the electric-car maker's Chief Executive Officer, Elon Musk, tweeted on Wednesday. CureVac, an unlisted German company, has said it is developing portable, automated mRNA production units that it calls printers and which Musk described as "RNA microfactories".
The Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India (FMSCI) has announced that the 2020 Indian motorsport season will not be cancelled amidst the Coronavirus pandemic. The motorsport governing body issued a statement after a recent report quoted FMSCI President J Prithviraj saying that the domestic motorsport season could be called off this year due to the COVID-19 crisis. The report further stated that the next season could begin as early as January 2021. However, FMSCI has now confirmed that it does not share the stance on the matter.
As the Indian government has eased the country-wide lockdown, it has been noticed that people are going out in large numbers. Besides, people are not following the rules regulated by the government. The lockdown was imposed earlier this year in March to contain the deadly coronavirus pandemic. Taking advantage of the phased-reopening, people are violating the norms by heading out and not following the social distancing rules. Taking strict action against such violators, the Noida police has penalised over 1000 vehicle owners across Noida and Greater Noida.
India's fuel consumption rose in June compared with May, continuing with a gradual recovery as industrial and transport sectors reopened after a stringent lockdown, a government statement issued said.
