Tesla has removed all references of the CyberTruck On its website which includes specs and prices. While there is a dedicated page for the Cybertruck, Tesla has removed the specs and configuration options for the electric pickup truck which according to itself has been delayed to 2022. Earlier, the car was supposed to launch in 2021 but due to the double whammy of the pandemic and the global semiconductor shortage, this car has been delayed alongside the Roadster and the Semi Truck.
Back in 2019 when Tesla unveiled the car for the first time before the pandemic it was offered in three options. The base model single motor RWD model touted a range of around 402 km with a 0-100 kph speed of 6.5 seconds and 177 kmph as the top speed starting at $39,900. The dual-motor AWD variant has a 482.8 km range and is slightly faster at 0-100 kph with a top speed of 193 kmph. It had a higher cost of $49,900. The top of the line model of the Cybertruck promises over 800 km of range is quite fast with 0-100 kmph time of 2.9 seconds with a top speed of 209 kph. This model was priced at $69,900.
The Cybertruck was announced just before the advent of the COVID19 pandemic
This means a couple of things; firstly the pricing has likely changed in light of the semiconductor shortage something that has been witnessed on the other Tesla models as well which have progressively become more expensive. The other issue could be that the configurations have also changed. In the case of the new Tesla Model S Plaid Range, Elon Musk decided to nix the model as he felt it was overkill. Tesla also doesn't include the price of the $10,000 full self-driving package, perhaps because it plans on upgrading the stack with new cameras and a new full self-driving chip.
Considering the $42,000 price of the base model of the Model 3, these old prices and configurations are likely not in play and that's why they have been removed. Another element could be a greater delay in the deliveries of the car. Tesla likely will also not release the base level model of the car till 2023 or 2024, so it is a while away for sure.
Tesla is currently hasn't even started delivering the new Model X which is based on the new Model S, so the focus is on its mass-market vehicles like the Model 3 and Model Y which are now starting to be produced even in the Berlin Gigafactory.
