Tesla co-founder and CEO, Elon Musk has announced that the Model S Plaid deliveries have been delayed once again and are now scheduled on June 10, 2021. The Tesla boss had previously confirmed that the deliveries will take place on June 3, at the company's Fremont facility in California, US. The additional week is required to make some final, undisclosed tweaks, Musk said in a tweet. The new Tesla Model S Plaid is priced at $112,990 (around Rs. 82.54 lakh) in the US.

The Tesla Models S Plaid was originally announced in late January this year with deliveries promised in a few weeks then, placing the delivery period around late February or March. However, the model was delayed for a number of reasons including tweaking the battery pack for safety, along with the global semiconductor shortage.
The Plaid is the new performance version of the Tesla Model S and promises 0-100 kmph acceleration in just 1.99 seconds. This will make the electric sedan the quickest accelerating series production car ever. The "limbic resonance" in Musk"s tweet also hints at the same. The model packs 1100 bhp of power with a top speed of 322 kmph on the Plaid and Plaid+ models. The new Tesla Model S Plaid will use three high-performance electric motors with carbon-sleeved rotors and torque vectoring.

Details on the Tesla Model S Plaid were briefly mentioned at the unveil in January this year, and we expect the automaker to reveal more details at the special event next month. The company is accepting new orders for the Plaid version in the US, while bookings for the Plaid+ are no longer being accepted. It's likely that the Model S Plaid+ will arrive by mid-2022.
Meanwhile, Tesla is expected to officially announce its India entry later this year. The company has already been doing the ground work for the same with dealerships planned in major cities with the head office likely in Mumbai. The first Tesla to be launched in India is likely to be the Model 3 electric sedan.
