We have been telling you that Mahindra & Mahindra has been working on an elongated version of the TUV300 subcompact SUV. While we've shown you spy shots of the camouflaged test mules in the past, the latest images surfaced online reveal the new Mahindra TUV300 Plus in all its glory. Yes, that will be the name for the longer TUV that will be joining the Xylo as a multi-seater option in the automaker's stable. The TUV300 Plus shares its underpinnings with the sub 4-metre TUV, albeit with a larger cabin.

The images reveal the base 'P4' variant of the Mahindra TUV300 plus. At the outset, the design remains largely the same as the standard TUV, but looks a lot more balanced than the sub 4 metre version. While the front remains largely the same with the bold seven slat grille and squared headlamps, the rear sports a host of changes. The taillight design has been revised and now extends to the sides. Oddly, the rear profile beyond the D-pillar looks bloated.
Inside, the Mahindra TUV300 Plus shares its cabin with the standard TUV300. The model borrows the same four-spoke steering wheel, and dual-tone black and beige themed cabin. The salient bits including the massive headroom and legroom will make for a roomy interior, while the large rear quarter-glass should allow more light in the third.

The Mahindra TUV300 Plus base trim gets front power windows (near the gearshift knob) and manual AC, while the audio system has been given a miss. That said, the unit will be available on the top trims, possibly inclusive of a touchscreen infotainment system on the top trim. Don't expect Android Auto just yet though. The spy shots also reveal that the TUV300 Plus will be 9-seater, with two bench seats in the last row. That said, it is likely that the higher variants will get front facing seats in the last row.
The new Mahindra TUV300 Plus gets 'D120' badging at the sides. It is likely that the automaker will continue to use the 1.5-litre four-cylinder diesel engine from the TUV on the Plus version. Rumours also suggest the 2.2-litre diesel from the Scorpio and XUV500 could also make it to the TUV300 Plus.

Details on the launch of the Mahindra TUV300 Plus are still sketchy, but the model can be expected to make its debut in the following months. Meanwhile, the automaker will be launching the Scorpio facelift in the country, while there is also the Toyota Innova Crysta rivaling U321 (codename) MPV in the works.
