The name WR-V is an acronym for 'Winsome Runabout Vehicle' and Honda R&D Brazil says that the model has been developed as a vehicle that realizes a tough and urban SUV design as well as excellent utility and a spacious cabin within a compact body size.

The design is particularly butch up front with plenty of urban styling thrown in. The front bumper gets a muscular appeal, while the massive grille gets the massive chrome bar lending a protruding chin. The headlamps come with black inserts, while the bonnet has been tweaked and now incorporates more masculine lines complementing the rugged appeal on the Honda WR-V.
Furthermore, you see black cladding across the lower section of the subcompact SUV, pronounced wheel arches, roof rails, diamond cut and alloy wheels. The side profile of the WR-V is similar to that of the Jazz, while the rear has been tweaked and is a strong reminder of the Indian BR-V. What you get new are the L-shaped wraparound tail lamps, a new clunky bumper with faux skid plate and the license plate positioned on the tailgate. While the figures aren't out yet, the Honda WR-V also get a raised ground clearance. Inside, the Honda WR-V shares several components with the Jazz and the cabin is similar to the latter.

While the Honda is yet to announce the engine options for Brazil version, the India-spec WR-V is expected to get the 1.2-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engine options, while transmission options will include a 5-speed manual and CVT as well. The diesel is likely to come with a 6-speed manual transmission.
More details on the Honda WR-V will emerge in the following weeks, while sales in Brazil are scheduled to commence in the first of 2017. India, on the other hand, is expected to get Honda's new subcompact SUV next year as well.
