Italian motorcycle brand Fantic has expanded its scrambler model range by introducing a new Explorer trim in Milan. The Fantic Caballero 500 Explorer joins the Scrambler, Flat Track and Rally versions, and uses the same 449 cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine as the other 500 models in the range. The engine has the same state of tune with 40 bhp at 7,500 rpm and 43 Nm of torque at 6,000 rpm, with the same multi-plate clutch and the 6-speed gearbox. The Fantic Caballero is already available in 125 cc, 250 cc and 500 cc versions, with a Scrambler, a Flat Track and Rally version. The Explorer expands the 500 cc version range.

The engine has the same state of tune with 40 bhp at 7,500 rpm and 43 Nm of torque at 6,000 rpm, with the same multi-plate clutch and the 6-speed gearbox.
The new Explorer features adjustable suspension front and rear, from Fantic FRS. At the front is a 43 mm inverted fork with 200 mm travel, while there are twin hydraulic shocks at the rear, also with 200 mm travel. The spoked aluminium rims come in a 19-inch front and 17-inch rear combination, shod with off-road ready Michelin Anakee Wild tyres. Braking duties are handled by a 320 mm floating disc on the front wheel, and a 230 mm rear disc, with standard dual-channel ABS from Continental.

The Caballero Explorer 500 features signature Scrambler design elements, like the high fender, high-mounted exhaust pipes and a classic circular headlight. It also comes with a standard luggage carrier, as well as a pannier rack on the left side, with a side bag. The bike stands out visually with its two-tone white and matt bronze livery which makes it quite an attractive scrambler. The bike comes with a rather small 12-litre fuel tank, although the 155 kg dry weight should make it flickable in the dirt. Seat height is 860 mm. The Caballero Explorer 500 will be available in Europe as a 2022 model.
