Italian two-wheeler maker Aprilia has taken the wraps off its new and rugged SR GT scooter range at the 2021 EICMA Motorcycle Show in Milan, Italy. The new Aprilia SR GT scooters are available with two engines - 125 cc and 200 cc. The bikes are designed around the 'urban adventure' theme and are the first-of-its-kind offerings from the two-wheeler manufacturer. You could say the new scooters are on the same lines as the Honda ADV350 that also made its debut at EICMA this year.

Aprilia says the 2022 SR GT maxi-scooter has been designed with inspiration from enduro bikes
The Aprilia SR GT 125 and SR GT 200 take inspiration from the brand's motorcycles and look razor-sharp from all angles. The distinctive graphics and slender frame give the scooters a nice presence while the design has been inspired by enduro bikes, according to the company. The Aprilia SR GT range gets an active riding position and a broad motorcycle-style handlebar for better control. The scooters also get long-travel suspension, ample ground clearance to tackle rough terrain and large alloy wheels. On the feature front, the Aprilia SR GT range gets a start/stop system, full LED lights, an LCD instrument cluster, while the Aprilia MIA connectivity tech is optional.

Power on the Aprilia SR GT 125 comes from the 125 cc single-cylinder, four-valve, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected engine that develops 14.7 bhp at 8,750 rpm and 12 Nm of peak torque available at 6,500 rpm. The Aprilia SR GT 200 comes with a 174 cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that develops 17.43 bhp at 8,500 rpm and 16.5 Nm of peak torque at 7,000 rpm. Both engines are paired with a VT unit.

Both scooters also boast top-notch hardware with 33 mm Showa front forks and a Show dual shock absorbers at the rear. Braking performance comes from a 260 mm front disc and a 220 mm disc at the rear. The adventure scooters ride on 14-inch front and 13-inch rear wheels. The SR GT 125 weighs about 144 kg while the SR GT 200 has a kerb weight of 148 kg, which is much higher than the run-of-the-mill 125 cc scooters on sale. As much as we'd like, the odds of the new Aprilia SR GT coming to India seem extremely slim at the moment.
