Expected to retain the same frame as the outgoing model, the Ducati Scrambler 1200 prototype was spotted in the Enduro body style with notable changes like the high mounted front mudguard, off-road tyres, high mounted headlamp, and a revised instrument cluster. You also get different rear view mirrors on the bike. That said, the minimalist design will be seen on the powerful version as well.
It is likely that the Ducati Monster 1200's L-Twin Testastretta engine will power the bigger Scrambler. While there is no confirmation on the same, the motor fits the bill well but will be tuned differently to appeal to the need of riders.

With respect to the mechanicals, the Ducati Scrambler 1200 will come with the USD front forks and a monoshock rear setup, while braking performance will come from disc brakes at the front and rear, while ABS will be offered as standard. Expect to see a bulk of electronic goodies to keep power in control on the relatively lightweight bike; so expect to see goodies like multiple riding modes, Ducati Traction Control (DTC) and a whole lot more.
The immense popularity of the Ducati Scrambler brought great success to the company, so much so that the Italian manufacturer introduced the much smaller Scrambler Sixty2 in a bid to appeal to A2 license holders in Europe. With the 1200cc version, the company is aiming to expand the Scrambler family even further as the brand has been quick developing an identity of its own amidst the Ducati stable.
While the Scrambler Sixty2 is not sold in India, the Scrambler 1200 will find many takers
Details are still sketchy on the new Scrambler 1200 at this point, but we expect Ducati to shed light on the model at the EICMA motorcycle show in November this year, where it could most likely also have its global premiere. Interestingly, there are chances that the Italian giant might bring the Scrambler 1200 to India, as the company will be able to price it right unlike the Sixty2.
