Months have passed and the rumours followed by denial have now culminated to some form of result. German automotive giant Daimler is likely to buy a minority stake in MV Agusta and it looks like the announcement will be made on November 3 at the Milan Motorcycle Show.
As we all already know, Daimler has a variety of brands under its banner which includes the likes of Mercedes-Benz, Smart cars, Setra coaches and other commercial vehicle brands such as American truck company Freightliner.
It's expected that Daimler will officially announce the purchase of a stake, believed to be around 25-30% in MV Agusta. However, there has been no official word or statement issued by the people at Daimler.
It is a known fact that Daimler, under the guise of Mercedes Benz and performance brand AMG, had a brief flirtation with Ducati which started in 2011, gave rise to a couple of special editions before Ducati was bought over by the company rivals VW Group using the Audi brand.
The tie-up between the Italian brand MV Agusta Daimler will bring in a wave of change for the Italian bike manufacturer and the cash injection will see them realize their expansion plans not to forget, expand Daimler's portfolio.
